NEW: George Harrison & Eric Clapton - Tokyo press conference 1991 - 1CD - November 29

George Harrison Tour of Japan with Eric Clapton and Band
Tokyo Press Conference 11-29-1991    37:42

“Weekly Young” Radio Interview w/George and Eric Clapton   11-30-1991     22:46

TBS Tour Coverage with Press Conference Excerpts   12-1991     8:20

The first track is from the press conference that was held to kick off the tour. I believe the location was the Tokyo Dome. Tracks two and three are Japanese radio broadcasts. These two for obvious reasons are heavy on Japanese content. While many of us may not be able to understand some of the broadcast I left the recordings intact as I received them. I hope a few people out there will appreciate that.

Performance-wise, this was a fairly standard "Reptile" show (albeit in front of a much larger audience than he played to for most of this tour) and standard setlist, but there are nice moments -- in particular a relatively uncommon "Stormy Monday" near the end of the set.

This is sourced from an Argentinian free television broadcast, and the info file asserts this transfer comes from the VHS master. Picture quality is good overall, though one can see a bit of degradation from the transfer. The audio track of the original broadcast is replaced with Mid Valley's "General Probe 2001," which smokes. The audio track itself is lossless PCM audio with DTS 5.1 -- great sound. Overall this is a very watchable video - I don't know if it's the "definitive" source or not, but it's good.

This has never been one of my favorite EC tours, though I will admit it has grown on me as time goes on. There are some good moments in these shows, and his backing band was terrific.
